Donations in Memory of Brett

There are many ways Brett has left a lasting legacy.  We carry with us and translate for others the impact of Brett's mentorship, passion, and his everlasting belief in us.

Memorial donations are another way for us to support his legacy.  CAMH and Unison Fund are two of the organizations we support. Brett used and valued the services of CAMH in Toronto.  Unison provides needed support to members of the Canadian music community.  Maybe you'll join us or look locally to support your community.  Please consider a memorial donation in Brett's name to an organization supporting mental health or those which support the chronically under-served and overlooked in receiving the help they need. Thank you.

Please Support the 2025 CAMH Sunrise Challenge!

From May 26 to 30 team NRG to Rise for Brett will rise with the sun to raise funds so CAMH can support better treatments, solutions, and outcomes or people facing mental illness and addiction.

The world loses 800,000 people to suicide every year—a tragic statistic the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is determined to change. As a world-leader in mental health research, they created the Sunrise Challenge to raise vital funds that will fuel new discoveries and break down the barriers that keep people from getting help when they need it most. We rise for those who’ve been affected by mental illness, for those who’ve lost their lives or a loved one to suicide, and to show those currently struggling that they don’t have to go through this alone—that they matter, that help is out there, and that people care about them.

May 2021 was the inaugural CAMH Sunrise Challenge. In our first year without Brett, this was a fitting pairing.  Our team returned in May 2022, 2023, and 2024 to continue to raise awareness and support. #camhsunrisechallenge.

Brett used and valued the services of CAMH in Toronto, ON, and suffered when they weren't available.  During the pandemic, sunrise was his favourite time to be outside with his dog, Quinn.  To learn more about services visit: camh.ca

About our support

The Dakin and Bourdeau families are pleased to support a variety of registered charities and non-registered programs and organizations with missions close to our hearts. Supporting members of Brett's community, who provided love and encouragement through music, care, and compassion, is our great honour and the best way for us to see the Butterfly Effect in action.
